2012 and Up Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500 pickups will need to use the longer Silent Hitch Pin due to the thickness of the receiver, the new 2 1/2" Silent Hitch Pin has more threads then the 2" pin which will accommodate the thicker receivers on these vehicles.

Any vehicle with a 2 1/2" Receiver can also use a 2" Receiver Reducer towing accessory along with the 2 1/2" Silent Hitch pin, even though there will be double the thickness in your receiver due to adding the reducer, the new 2 1/2" Hitch pin has been designed with a longer shank and more threads to accommodate this.
